James B. Dougherty, M.D., MBA

James B. Dougherty joined Cross Atlantic Partners in 2003 as a Venture Partner. Dr. Dougherty is the co-founder of Arcus Ventures (2007), a boutique fund focused on early stage oncology investments.  From 2001 to 2007, he was a Principal of the Arcus Group , a healthcare consulting firm based in NYC .  He was formerly the Deputy Physician-in-Chief at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1997 -2001, with responsibilities for the oversight of MSKCC’s clinical programs. Dr. Dougherty has provided strategic consulting guidance and direction on a broad variety of industry areas to providers, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as well as investors for private and public corporations. Dr. Dougherty is a graduate of Georgetown College (BS ‘76); Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine (MD ‘80) and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (MBA ‘97). He completed internal medicine training at Cornell University School of Medicine and a medical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
